1. The Savior of Multi-Material Bonding from Taiwan–MXBON Cyanoacrylate Adhesive
Model Art Co., Ltd. has begun handling two types of instant adhesives from the hobby brand “MXBON,” brought to you by Taiwan’s leading adhesive manufacturer. To provide an early review, this magazine invited Mr. Tsubame Sekiya, who frequently contributes paper and brass kit modeling works, to share his unbiased user perspective!
2. Ingredients: Chemical reaction adhesive / Cyanoacrylate (70% or more)
- Features: Low odor/Low blooming/Fast drying. Can be stored at room temperature when unopened
- Materials that cannot be bonded: Polyethylene / Polypropylene / Silicone / PET resin / Styrofoam / Fabric / Not suitable for clothing repair
3. A low-odor adhesive ideal for precision work.
Its special body design and ultra-fine nozzle prevent excessive adhesive flow, allowing precise application of the required amount exactly where needed.

2. Test method
We tested bonding strength using common materials in model making—brass, plastic sheets, and transparent plastic sheets—for both perpendicular (spot bonding) and flat bonding applications. The specific test conditions are as outlined to the right.

3.Conditions
Brass: The bonding surface must be roughened (e.g., using #400 waterproof sandpaper).
→ Without roughening, all combinations will result in detachment.
Plastic sheets and transparent plastic sheets: The bonding surface must be cleaned with a neutral detergent to remove dirt and grease.
– Adhesive strength was evaluated by applying manual peeling force (sensory evaluation), and any result rated as “△” or higher was deemed “usable.”
Evaluation Criteria
◎: Provides sufficient bonding strength (even point application is strong enough).
○: Not suitable for structural parts but usable for other purposes (e.g., attaching etched parts to plastic materials).
△: Detaches with weak force but can be used for areas that won’t be handled after assembly.
×: Easily detaches, unsuitable for use.
一: Not evaluated.
